Mr. & Mrs. Barrett | A Detailed Plantation Wedding in Savannah, GA

Jun 30, 2021

Another destination wedding in the books! Josh and Rachel’s beautiful wedding was just outside of Savannah, GA. This place was on my bucket list of destinations to shoot at and I could not be more grateful to this sweet couple for making that dream come true. Rachel asked me to be a part of not only her wedding day but the entire weekend experience and it made for some fun, unforgettable memories.

Wednesday I met the sweet couple at Forsyth Park along with their videographer to capture a few couple photos.  The location was amazing and absolutely beautiful with the stunning Spanish moss trees. The day before the wedding we took photos of the bride, her bridesmaids and friends at the same park along with some gorgeous places around town followed by a few shots at the adorable Mansion on Forsyth Park where they had brunch. It was a blast and assured me that the wedding day was going to be just as much fun with this great group of girls. That evening we headed to the venue where I captured the intimate  rehearsal dinner. (Click here to view the blog post about all of the pre wedding events).

Josh and Rachel’s wedding took place at Quinney Oaks Plantation, a gorgeous venue filled with history and beautiful decor. It is definitely the perfect place if you want that southern charm feel.  The plantation house, oak trees, and charming garden provided a flawless, romantic, southern setting for their wedding day.

The forecast called for storms and we did have a few showers throughout the day. However, all vendors, their sweet friends and family were ready to tackle any changes that needed to be made. Everyone truly helped make it the most perfect day to celebrate Josh and Rachel’s love story.

Their wedding day was full of amazing details with such elegance. Rachel planned everything so perfectly and there was not a detail missed throughout the entire day; from the personalized bourbon bottle grooms cake, the wax crest menus, personalized drink stirrers/cozies, the Kentucky horseshoe table numbers plus so much more. One of my favorite elements was the hand rolled cigar bar that she surprised Josh with at the reception. It was cuban tobacco with their personalized crest on it. This was definitely a hit to everyone at the wedding and made for some wonderful memories.

Once the live band started to play the dance floor was packed the entire night with everyone laughing and dancing the night away. The groom and some of the groomsmen even serenaded the bride at one point. It truly was the most joyful occasion with some incredible people.

After this entire process with Rachel and Josh , I can confidently say I am so happy for this deserving and sweet couple. Their hospitality, kindness, joy and sweet personalities made this weekend such a fun one to photograph. Rachel and Josh: Thank you so much for entrusting me to capture your big day! I hope you love these favorites of mine as much as I do!

This amazing day would not have been possible without this outstanding team of vendors!
