A Wedding Worth the Wait | Elizabeth & Dashaun’s Beautiful Celebration

Aug 1, 2025

Some love stories just deserve a second chapter—especially when the first one was interrupted by something as unexpected as a tornado. Elizabeth and Dashaun had been dreaming of their wedding day for so long, and when their original celebration didn’t go as planned , it was heartbreaking (Full blog of their first story). What makes their story so incredibly beautiful is how they embraced the chance to do it all again—with hearts full of gratitude, surrounded by the people they love most.

This time, the skies were clear, the sun was shining, and everything about the day felt like it had been written just for them. The weather was perfect, the florals were breathtaking, and joy radiated in every direction. Laughter echoed throughout the ceremony and reception, and there wasn’t a dry eye (or an empty dance floor) in sight.

Elizabeth was absolutely glowing—the kind of glow that only comes from waiting, hoping, and finally getting the day your heart always pictured. She got her dream wedding, and I don’t think anyone who witnessed it will ever forget it. Dashaun, full of energy and love, had the party going from the moment the music started. The dance floor didn’t rest for a second—not even when Elizabeth’s dad surprised everyone with a solo dance of his own that had the whole room cheering.

And we couldn’t talk about this day without honoring Cherie, the incredible owner of the venue. She was just as exceptional on this day as she was during their original wedding, going above and beyond to make sure Elizabeth and Dashaun felt seen, celebrated, and cared for. After just a few short weeks following the devastation, she had the venue looking absolutely stunning. The little touches she added just for them—so personal and heartfelt—made the whole day feel even more special.

One of the most heartwarming moments of the evening came during the reception, when Elizabeth lovingly gifted her bouquet to her mother. It was such a sweet, emotional gesture—a quiet moment full of meaning, honoring the woman who had been by her side through it all.

I’ve always had such a deep love for this family, but after being given the honor of capturing not just one, but both of Elizabeth and Dashaun’s wedding days, that love, respect, and admiration has only grown. It’s hard to put into words how much I cherish their friendship. This entire experience—every moment, every emotion, every celebration—was a powerful testimony to just how incredible both of their families truly are. The grace, strength, and joy they carried through everything was inspiring, and I’ll hold this season close to my heart for a lifetime.

It was such an honor to capture this day for them. After everything they went through, being able to witness their joy, their love, and this long-awaited celebration felt like a gift.

Here’s to second chances, unexpected beauty, and love that dances through every storm

This incredible day would not have been possible without this wonderful team of vendors!
