Mike & Alexandra | A Sports Themed Wedding

Nov 1, 2019

I have been so excited to share this wedding with you all! It was different than any other wedding I have ever shot and it was personalized perfectly for the sweetest couple ever!

I must say going into the wedding day I was a little nervous.  I normally have meetings with my brides, talk over email or phone to go over the planning process of their big day. With Alexandra I didn’t talk to her once, not even email.  I talked to her sweet mother the entire process and she told me Alexandra was not the traditional bride and she didn’t want to do the planning. Therefore, her mother and I worked together throughout and it couldn’t have been more perfect.

Once I arrived to the wedding and officially met Alexandra all of my worries went out the door. Her and Mike were two of the sweetest people I have ever met! Not only did I love getting to know them both, I also fell in love with their sweet families.  I left this wedding with tears of joy and gratitude in my heart. Lauren who is my second shooter, said, “What is wrong Kendra?” I  honestly just left this wedding with the most humbling feeling.  I am beyond thankful God chose this path for me. I get to meet the sweetest people who make such an impact in my life just by watching them be themselves!

Alexandra and Mike’s wedding day could not have been more beautifully planned to fit both their personalities.  Mike, a huge UK fan had half of the decor in UK blue to fit his style, including his blue shoes. Alexandra, a huge IU fan had crimson details all the way down to her dress. The reception had so many small details throughout that everyone was in awe of it all.

The entire day was filled with such special and fun moments. One of my favorite moments was when Alexandra saw her bouquet with a personalized touch of a song that reminded them all of her late sister.  Later in the day we were doing couple photos and Mike and Alexandra wanted a drink to have in a photo.  Alexandria’s dad went to get them the drink and as he was walking back over, Mike started telling us how amazing of a man he was and how lucky he was to now call him family… he made us all start crying with his kind and meaningful words! During the reception IU’s theme song came on and ALL the IU fans were out on the dance floor singing as loud as they could and dancing. It was truly a celebration that made me want to be an IU fan after witnessing how much fun they have!

Mike & Alexandra, I can not thank you enough for having me capture your amazing day! You all are loved by so many and truly had a fairytale wedding day! I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites!
