Mr. and Mrs. Archie | A Gulf Shores Wedding

Jul 12, 2021

There is nothing we love more than a tropical destination wedding here at Kendra R. Photography, and the gulf happens to be one of our favorites.

After visiting the tropical destination of Gulf Shores, Alabama on vacation for years, James and Corinne knew they wanted a weekend-long party with their family and friends to celebrate their love. With the help of some amazing family, friends and vendors that’s exactly what they did. Although their wedding was supposed to happen a year earlier and had lots of changes due to Covid it could not have been planned more perfectly.

During the couples wedding week everyone had such a great time enjoying the beach, pool and just hanging out at this beautiful destination. Their wedding day arrived and sadly so did a tropical storm. With high winds, floods and lots of rain predicted we jumped into action to make sure we captured the beach photos the couple had dreamed of. I arrived to the brides condo bright and early that morning to get all of her details so I could get those shots in before the day began. We had to push up her hair/makup slightly so we could catch the quick break in the rain showed by the radar. A quick 10 minutes on the beach before the rain came for a first look and couple photos is just what we did. Within that ten minutes I was throwing poses at them quickly and they truly looked like models out of a magazine! We ended up with over 100 images in their gallery from that quick session and thankfully got them back in shelter before the rain started.

With rain in the forecast for the rest of the day we didn’t let that dampen our fun. The plantation styled venue posed beautiful  wrap around porches where we were able to capture more of their photos. The couple exchanged vows on a covered patio overlooking the water before PARTYING the night away with all of their family and friends. Although the venue’s natural beauty was unbeatable, the evening was elevated by beautiful decor and flower arrangements. Oh, and did I forget to mention that there was not an empty spot on the dance floor the entire night!!!

These photos have us wanting to pack our bags, book flights to head back to this amazing place. So get ready to be inspired because one look and you’ll be ready to jet off for your own destination wedding.
Corinne and James, thank you so much for entrusting me to travel and capture your wedding day. It truly was a blast and I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites.

This amazing day would not have been possible without this wonderful team of vendors!
