Mr. & Mrs. Knickerbocker | A Timeless Nashville Winter Wedding

Feb 2, 2022

I could not think of a more perfect way to kick off my 2022 wedding season than celebrating James and Danielle!  “I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22!”  Seriously though, this day was special for a number of reasons.  Danielle and I were good friends in college, so I was of course thrilled when she wanted me to capture her Nashville wedding.  While I’ve shot several weddings in Nashville prior to this, Danielle’s was the first on my calendar since MOVING to Nashville!!! Ahhh, I still can’t believe it!  It all happened with such perfect timing.  Not to mention the vendors involved were so welcoming by inviting me into the Nashville wedding industry– the incredible venue being one of them.  There is just so much to share about this classic Nashville wedding from the people to the impeccable place where it was set.

From the time I pulled into the drive and saw the first glimpse at the stunning white buildings with stone accents, to getting out of the car with all my gear and coffee in towe, I knew it was going to be a good day.  Inside we were greeted by Lanta, the talented wedding planner.  She was finalizing the whimsical, yet elegant florals and tablescapes.  As I entered the classy bridal suite Danielle, along with another college friend/past bride of mine, and the rest of the amazing bridal party exchanged hellos and excitement for all to come!  After capturing the bride’s pretty details and the groomsmens’ fun “game-day” style entrances on their way to get ready, it was time for an extra special first look.  I say first look lightly because… well let’s just say James was not so pleasantly surprised to see his groomsmen, Tanner had tapped him on the shoulder instead of his blushing bride!!! This was such a fun moment and all the wedding party got to watch it take place in the chapel, while giving us the best reaction!  James on the other hand would have to wait for the real deal first look when Danielle walked down the aisle.

Speaking of the chapel, I cannot say enough good things about this venue!  The all-white everything, light and airy bridal suite, and then the timeless wedding chapel were all a photographer’s dream!!! As the ceremony proceeded, sunlight flooded the room adding such an ethereal feel and glow to the moment.  The wooden beams in the chapel, also found throughout the main reception space, just enhanced the white walls and ceilings so well.  This made for such a clean and classic venue, the perfect place for James and Danielle to say their vows. The bride and groom shared their kiss, then headed out the chapel, now as husband and wife for some just married portraits. Another great place for photos was the stone front entrance to the chapel.  We took advantage of this and the unlimited potential locations for photos the venue offered.

James and Danielle prioritized the more candid moments, which showed through when it was time for their reception… a true party and celebration of their love! They shared a special champagne toast in the loft/balcony space at the venue and even took a group photo with ALL their guests.  They also took up residency on the dance floor for most of the night, as the wonderful DJ kept the soundtrack for the night flowing with high energy, which made for so many fun dance photos! Not to mention, the amazing light set up he had was tailored to each moment at the reception.  The night ended with “cold sparklers” that shot up around the couple–also courtesy of DJ Rideout–and created such a unique exit which paired perfectly with glow sticks.  Talk about sparks flying!!!

James and Danielle, I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to capture your day!  I’m so happy to be your photographer and to already  have some friends in Nashville in you guys!  Please enjoy a few of my favorites from this amazing  day!
