Saturday’s wedding was absolutely stunning and may go down as one of my favorite weddings to date. The entire day was brimming with southern elegance and class, as it took place on a private estate in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. I loved connecting with Bart and Sara when they came to Nashville for engagement pictures. I couldn’t wait for their wedding day and it did not disappoint!
When we drove up to the property we followed the long tree-lined driveway to an impressive home, almost giving the feel of a historic southern plantation. The details of the beginning portion of the day were beautiful and I tied in some elements from the reception into the flatlays. The pattern on the linen accented the shoes and invitation suite perfectly~ a perfect harmony of beginning and end for the cohesive view of the day. The bride slipped into her dress in front of a window with a generous amount of light filling the room. Her dress was a perfect array of elegant satin material with a dainty lace silhouette. The back of her dress featured such an amazing, unique touch. From the top of the dress cascading all the way down to the train, were a line of real pearls. Sara shared she has plans to use them to make jewelry for her future children, a sentiment that of course had me tearing up at the thought of it!!! The home also featured a gorgeous porch spanning the length of the front of the house, which is where we had first looks for the bride and groom and a sweet father daughter first look as well.
The ceremony featured wooden cross back chairs in front of a classic white fence featuring floral arrangements lining the bottom and the rolling farmland beyond that. There were over 350 guests there to celebrate Sara and Bart. On the lawn adding a special touch of elegance to the atmosphere, was a string quartet playing in the background. They continued to play into the cocktail hour as well. The ceremony was short and sweet, followed by a cocktail hour with the most beautiful setup and multiple bar options for guests throughout the property. For bride and groom portraits amidst the evening glow, we even got to capture some portraits with a horse who was dressed for the occasion and ready for his photo op with a braided mane and all. The bride’s bouquet was not only massive, but in the most beautiful kind of way, as it primarily featured white peonies, let’s just say I was in love with all the little details!!
These elegant details continued into the cocktail and reception portion of the night. Guests walked down into the barn and near the stalls you were greeted with another bar/cocktail area. A very nice white bar opened up to a clear tent decked to the nine with linen table covers that featured a delicate blue floral pattern, more wooden chairs, dainty blue glasses, florals throughout and a hanging floral circle centerpiece to top it all off. Adjacent to the reception tent were stables complete with horses who hung out enjoying the attention and hanging around the whole night. There were also multiple classy sitting areas for guest as well. A live band played the whole night keeping spirits light like the twinkle lights sparkling above. That and the clear tent with a view of the last remnants of sunlight peeking through made for a stunning backdrop against which dances and the rest of the evening commenced. A perfect end to a perfect day!
Bart and Sara, thank you so much for asking me to capture this beautiful day! I was blown away with the elegance and privileged to showcase all the stunning details and fleeting moments. I hope you enjoy some of my favorites!
