Reagan & Joe | A Summer Wedding at The Vintage Barn at Merefield

Jun 18, 2026

Some wedding days are extra special, and Reagan and Joe’s wedding was one of those days for me.

Reagan has held a very special place in my heart for many years. She was one of my senior spokesmodels during her high school days, and that season was such a meaningful one. I had the opportunity to build genuine friendships with each of the girls, and Reagan was someone who always stood out with her kindness, sweet spirit, and joyful personality. Over the years, it has been such a gift to watch her grow, so when she reached out about capturing both her engagement session and wedding day, I was absolutely overjoyed.

From the moment I met Joe and saw the two of them together during their engagement session, I knew their wedding day would be something truly special. The love, respect, and connection they share is undeniable. The way they look at each other, laugh together, and simply enjoy being in each other’s presence is the kind of love story every girl dreams about.

On the wedding day we arrived at The Vintage Barn at Merefield in Midway, Kentucky, we were greeted by rolling hills, horses roaming the property, and the most perfect summer wedding weather. The beautiful countryside setting created the perfect backdrop for the day ahead.

Inside the bridal suite, excitement filled the room. Laughter echoed through the space as Reagan spent the morning surrounded by her closest family and friends. Despite all the anticipation of the day, she remained incredibly calm and radiant. One of the sweetest moments was watching her share those final getting-ready moments with her mother as she stepped into her wedding dress. Across the hall, the groomsmen were equally excited as they prepared for the day and celebrated alongside Joe.

One of my favorite moments of the day was Reagan and Joe’s first look. It was emotional, heartfelt, and filled with happy tears. As they saw each other for the first time, it felt as though the world around them stood still. They soaked in every second together, sharing private vows and precious moments before the ceremony. These are the moments that make me love what I do even more—the genuine, emotional, once-in-a-lifetime memories that deserve to be preserved forever.

Their ceremony was absolutely breathtaking. The outdoor chapel was adorned with beautiful florals, creating a romantic and elegant setting. As Reagan walked down the aisle, there was hardly a dry eye in sight. Surrounded by their family and friends, they exchanged heartfelt vows, promised forever to one another, and sealed it all with a kiss. The ringing of the chapel bell afterward was the perfect celebratory touch as they officially became husband and wife.

Cocktail hour was equally impressive, with thoughtful details around every corner. Guests enjoyed signature drinks, delicious hors d’oeuvres, and even a unique quilt station. One of the most creative details was the seating chart, where guests found their table assignments on personalized golf balls. It felt like a scene straight out of a movie as everyone mingled, celebrated, and enjoyed the beautiful evening while Reagan and Joe slipped away for a few portraits as newlyweds.

As guests entered the stunning barn for the reception, they were welcomed into a beautifully designed space filled with warmth and celebration. Heartfelt toasts, special dances, a sweet cake cutting, and a wonderful dinner made for an unforgettable evening. After the formalities, Reagan and Joe snuck away for sunset portraits, where they were greeted by the most beautiful golden light and horses grazing nearby. It was one of those picture-perfect Kentucky evenings that photographers dream about.

As the sun disappeared, the celebration continued on the outdoor dance floor. The outdoor barn quickly filled with music, laughter, and dancing as friends and family celebrated the newlyweds late into the evening. The night concluded with a beautiful sparkler send-off, creating the perfect ending to an absolutely perfect day.

Reagan and Joe, thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to capture such an important season of your lives. Watching your love story unfold has been such a joy, and it was an incredible honor to witness and document every moment of your wedding day. Your love for each other, your families, and everyone around you is truly beautiful. I am so excited for all that lies ahead for you both and grateful to have been a small part of your story.

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Benton!
