Let’s just start from the very beginning. Brooke had been a guest at several weddings I captured and said she had been following my work for a while. She contacted me about photographing her wedding that was planned for April of this year. Brooke and I met for coffee and instantly hit it off, as our styles are very similar. I could have talked to her for hours that day about anything and everything! We both left saying, “I feel like I have known you for years”.

Fast forward to March 2020 when the pandemic hit. Brooke and Jeffrey’s wedding was going to be my first for 2020 and my heart was breaking for them. I knew that they were having to make such hard decisions so early on during this uncertain time. However, I must tell you that Brooke handled it like a ROCKSTAR! Every time her and I talked her spirits were high, she always stayed positive and you could tell nothing was going to put a damper on her wedding day, not even a worldwide pandemic. Brooke was so kind and caring that she was even concerned about my health since I am high risk due to being pregnant, which meant so much to me.

Brooke and Jeffrey ended up having to postpone their wedding not only one time but twice! When she contacted me about their final plan, I knew it was meant to be. She filled me in on all the details and it sounded like nothing but a dream and I must say it was just that!

Wedding weekend arrived which took place in Johnson City, TN! Unfortunately, my second shooter was unable to attend therefore I convinced my husband Rubem to come out of retirement and second shoot for me. Rubem used to work with me at a lot of my weddings several years ago. However, his work schedule didn’t allow for him to continue. So to have him by my side this weekend was amazing!We had a BLAST getting to shoot together and travel for this amazing couples destination wedding!

Brooke and Jeffrey have to be one of the the kindest, most caring and FUN couples I have got to work with over the years. Their joy and sweet personality is one that just makes you feel good and is so contagious. To top it off they are just as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside! The kindness didn’t stop there though, truly everyone at the wedding was such a joy to be around and made us feel like family.

Not only did we have a dream couple to work with but EVERYTHING about the day was planned to perfection! There was not one detail skipped over. The venue was seriously nothing like I have ever seen before. Waterstone is a photographers dream! The bridal suite looked to be a little hobbit house with the cutest decor and all white walls. The groom and groomsmen had a rustic tree house to get ready in on the other side of the property. Yes, a tree house! How cool is that! The wedding ceremony took place on “the Island” which was on the waterfront with an amazing waterfall in the background!! As the sweet couple said their vows their love for one another was so heartwarming  as her dad married them.

After the ceremony the reception took place in the coolest tent which even had wood styled floors. At dark everything was lit up with lights that hung from the trees. Each and every detail made the entire feel of the venue magical!!! From the bohemian arch that was covered in beautiful flowers, the polaroid guest book, the vintage couch, a stunning cake and yummy cake pops of the couples dogs, plus so much more, no detail was overlooked for sure.

Let’s talk about Jeffrey and Brooke’s two dogs which were a big part of their wedding. They stayed with the couple the entire day from getting ready, enjoying the first look and walking down the aisle. They even danced on the dance floor in the couples arms. It was seriously the cutest thing ever and made for such a special touch.

A few of my favorite moments from this day, one being the first look. Brooke pulled off the best “fake” fist look for Jeffrey. She had one of his football friends get into a wedding dress and pretend to be her tapping him on the shoulder. Jeffrey’s reaction when he turned around was PRICELESS! It had everyone laughing and shook some of those nerves off before the ceremony. Another favorite moment of mine was when the couple decided to try the dirty dancing move (in her AMAZING wedding dress) for a photo and pulled it off. Also, Brooke’s maid of honor and her husband pulled off one of the best singing speeches. I would not be surprised if that goes viral! It was hilarious!! I could go on and on about this amazing wedding and the love this couple shared throughout the day! It truly was a dream wedding.
